From February 19 to 23

In line with the artistic line of the Wagner Gallery, the exhibition program designed for Art Karlsruhe 2025 highlights 6 emblematic artists with an aesthetic that is both sober and refined, as technical as it is poetic. Although having distinct artistic approaches, these artists share a taste for exploring abstraction and visual perception. As worthy heirs of Malevich, they have detached themselves from figurative representation to concentrate on the construction of pure and universal geometric units, and chromatic surfaces which they strive to place in dynamic balance. In Malevich, abstraction is a metaphysical absolute and not a meaningless plastic deconstruction. It is in this spirit of seeking purity as such that the image is stripped of everything that is not its very essence, in order to be able to express and feel what it fully is. It is no longer just sensation, pure sensitivity and becomes an autonomous art. Thus, the viewer can interact with the works, whether through physical movement or attentive contemplation.
