Concrete art, constructiv art, Kinetic art and other sciences...
Jean-Marie Wagner founded the Wagner gallery in Le Touquet in 2004. A few years later, his daughter Florence joined him. Together, they made the choice to defend the currents of geometric abstraction, concrete art, constructed art, optical art, urban art. They present artists of museum and international stature, but also offer their picture rails to young artists whom they consider promising.
These art forms, structuring because they are structured, sometimes minimalist, always interrogative, are the materialization of an ability to think about the world through a formal language that is certainly simple (squares, circles, triangles, lines, etc.) but in close links with science, mathematics, philosophy, poestry even spirituality.
For 18 years, Jean-Marie Wagner has been building bridges between artists and art lovers by exhibiting their work in an atypical space of more than 300m2 on two levels in Le Touquet. Since September 2019, it is in Paris, 19 rue des Grands Augustins, at the crossroads of the Latin Quarter, Odéon and Saint-Germain-des Près, that the Gallery continues its activity and presents its artists.
In Le Touquet, however, there is still a 25m2 space where amateurs touquettois can keep in touch and discover new works.
This space is only open on appointment.
The Wagner Gallery is also present outside the walls through various partnerships in the region or nationally, as well as through contemporary art fairs (Art Paris and Art Elysées since 2016, Drawing Now Fair).
Note: The Gallery is a member of the PROFESSIONAL COMMITTEE OF ART GALLERIES.
The Gallery adheres to the Code of Ethics of art galleries. The gallery is also a member of the Association des Galeries de Lille et de sa Région.
