The CPGA – Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art – has just carried out a study on the impact of the Coiv-19 health crisis on the economy of art galleries.

Here are the results of this study:
– SMALL AND FRAGILE GALLERIES
52% of galleries have a turnover < 41 600 € / month (500 K€)

– AN ECOSYTEM IN DANGER
7 650 artists without income + direct jobs
52,400 indirect jobs

– MORE THAN 1/3 OF GALLERIES ARE AT RISK OF CLOSING
46% of galleries closed during the 1992 crisis
Fragility of galleries that invest heavily in exports
