As by chance
Prepare for the unexpected!
Chance represents phenomena that we can neither control nor predict with certainty. One might think that it has no link with mathematics, the sciences of rigor and accuracy. And yet, chance is indeed a mathematical concept, which can be studied and made somehow… predictable. This exhibition invites you to discover how.
The Wagner Gallery is a partner of the exhibition with a work by Gerhard Hotter which uses Langford’s mathematical sequences, while allowing a significant part to chance!
The opening will take place in the presence of Jean-Baptiste Aubin, mathematician and curator of the exhibition, on Wednesday September 11, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Laurent Schwartz space at Maison Poincaré (Perrin Building – IHP).
(Entry exclusively by registration by email with the Wagner Gallery until September 9, subject to availability. Last entries: 8 p.m.)
