Michel Paysant draws Giverny
For Drawing Now 2026, Galerie Wagner is presenting a solo exhibition by Michel Paysant, on a theme partly linked to Monet (who died in 1926), following on from his exhibition at the Orangerie and ahead of a group exhibition at the gallery.
Passionate about classical and experimental drawing, the artist draws with his eyes, using Eye Tracking, a technique that captures his eye movements. The data is then translated by computer and transmitted to an articulated robot that reproduces the movement of the hand. The role of light, the artist’s breathing and concentration – particularly the opening of the pupil – all come into play. Michel Paysant’s work combines art, craftsmanship, science and new technologies. This project confirms the gallery’s artistic focus on the relationship between art and science.
