Mireille Calle-Gruber is a writer and professor emeritus of literature at the Sorbonne nouvelle – Paris III, where she directs the Research Center in Women’s and Gender Studies / French-speaking Literatures, after having piloted a research program in Women’s Studies in Canada and directed the Center for Women’s Studies at Paris VIII University. His work focuses on literature, the arts and philosophy.
She edited the Complete Works in 12 volumes of Michel Butor at La Différence (2006-2010), the Cahier de L’Herne Quignard (2021) and co-edited the Dictionnaire Universel des Créatrices in 3 volumes, with Béatrice Didier and Antoinette Fouque , Editions Des Femmes 2013; digital edition 2016.
She published the Biography of Claude Simon, A Life to Write, Seuil, 2011, and a second volume of this Biography, Claude Simon, Being a Painter, Hermann, 2021.
In 2019, she created the series of Cahiers Butor which she co-directs at Éditions Hermann, and directs with Hélène Campaignolle-Catel, Melina Balcazar and Florence Clavaud, the digital edition of the manuscripts of Women and Tramway by Claude Simon.
