If painting should represent a vision of the world or the vision of the world through the eyes of the artist, Francesc Bordas shows us a world in evolution and transformation. A daily relationship between man and the symbolism of a series of geometries, abstract referents, which surround us and challenge us.
Today we are invaded by “screens” that define the “image” of humanity, but all around there are spaces, walls, panels, etc., that are temporary, that mask or anticipate new images or new transformations. These are singular spaces, which at first glance turn into abstract representations with signs, traces and “rhythmic notations” on a human scale.
These images create a relationship between the emotion of the gaze and the rational part of man. A geometry of reason that opens us up: on the one hand, a subjective reading of codes or “strange writings”, and on the other hand, a reminder to relive in a different way (without return) certain artistic utopias, which have left cultural and social traces in our collective memory.
The representation of this, in the work of Francesc Bordas, is a risky exercise, because his paintings are taken to a point where the notion of the painting could disappear. Only the autonomy and perceptive force of these elements can save him.
Francesc Bordas offers us an adventure of the gaze, where the painting becomes a “screen”, and at the same time a symbolic machine of the representation of itself.
