My work, essentially monochrome, is devoted to giving form to simple lines defined solely, in their outline, by light.
Each piece is made up of hundreds of near-identical modules, assembled and glued together in a repetitive process. These multiple elements in wood or cardboard gradually advance in depth, ultimately defining the form by revealing infinite gradations of a single colour. From this three-dimensionality arise multiple possible readings of the work. Variations in ambient light, as well as the viewer’s movement, alter its perception. The work vibrates.
I explore boundaries and infinity, the elusive and the ephemeral, randomness and order — aiming to create, through the viewer’s gaze, aesthetic emotions that emerge from the unspoken and the unconscious. In doing so, I place myself in the lineage of the kinetic artists of the 20th century, embracing minimalism and pure abstraction.
