CLAISSE Sélection d’oeuvres

In parallel with the exhibition proposed by the Museum of Cambrai until February 2014, the Wagner Gallery invites you to discover a selection of works by Geneviève CLAISSE, dating from the 1960s to the present day.

Originally from the Cambresis region, Geneviève CLAISSE has become a key figure in geometric abstract art. Exhibited since the 1960s in Paris, present in many museums and private collections, the artist surprises again and again by her immediate relationship to abstraction. Simple and pure forms. Interactive bright colours. Virtual spaces composed of lines, triangles, circles or squares. Reversed perspectives. Geneviève CLAISSE says she has found in abstraction “the natural way to express the world and the foundation of our cultural future”.
