Alain Longuet
Born in 1946 in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (Val-de-Marne)
• was a teacher at the University of Constantine (Algeria)
• 1976: educational engineer in the audiovisual department of the École Polytechnique
• participates at the same time in the emergence of French video art and runs video courses and workshops in art and audiovisual schools
• 1982: Montbéliard Festival
• 1983: Electra, MAM Paris
• 1983: becomes a member of SCAM (Civil Society of Multimedia Authors)
• Between 1987 and 1992: created various computer graphics and multimedia workshops within the framework of ADAC (artistic practices workshops of the city of Paris).
• 1988: Electronic Arts, Rennes
• 1990: Artifice, Saint-Denis
1992: Infographic Art Meetings, Palais de Tokyo.
• Lives and works in Paris
For many years now, Alain Longuet has been developing graphic composition algorithms that result from a delicate balance between constrained numerical operations and more random decisions delegated to the machine.
From this permanent confrontation, the identity of the work is born in successive waves, detached from any subjective particularism.
